The idea of creating this blog is especially for our baking hobby and anything got to do with cooking. We hope that you will be enjoying it too as much as we do ;)
my cupcakes are all ready for my former high school's OGA (short for old girl's association occay?) committee meeting later in the evening. during our last meeting in the mid of ramadhan, it was actually my grand auntie pah mimi's idea for us to have potluck for this meeting, since we are all still in the raya mood. then i was like— "wohoo!!!... i am only good in cupcakes, so i'll bring cupcakes ler kan? hehee...".
my butter cupcakes a bit shrink this time around :( so i came out with the idea to decorate them with a double swirl design. lotsa used of buttercream though i.e. doubleeeee!!! as usual. i am sure the senior citizens not keen with it. but anyhow they could always take out the buttercream, then eat the cupcakes instead, not a problem with that :)
in terms of taste, texture and such, my version of tiffany & co cupcakes *glurp* have been tested and passed thru my personal QS i.e. mama hehee...

in fact, i did the same colour for my lil' sis' last saturday, who as usual wanna served my cupcakes for her colleagues for the raya. i decorated hers with my signature design. she's the only malay in the office, so she opt for the very simple one! that is bring cupcakes and gave them away for raya treats :P

its been quite some time since i didn't do this signature design of mine. go here, here and here to view more of this designs. so when my cousin kak roza ordered some cupcakes just for 'makan-makan', with the 'apa-apa je lah' (anything) design and colour, i make them my own way... like for kechik's order last time (the one for guest), when you said 'apa-apa', so there goes apa-apa hehee...
this time kak roza's orders are in medium size. it was kinda tricky though to do some quite small swirly designs, compared to the one that i usually do in much bigger size.
together in that one batch of dough i also made some to be sent to a local club's cafe here in kuale. the cafe lady wants to sell my cupcakes there alhamdulillah... according to her it seems the cafe is quite busy in the morning for breakfast or morning break especially to government offices people nearby, bankers and also public. so for her its better if she could sell and help me to promote my cupcakes too. i will be sending my cupcakes there every two days, starting today insya allah... the cafe is closed on saturdays. i will blog about the club some other time. so make sure you come back here to find out about it. who knows maybe you can drop-by at the club's cafe when you are in town ;)

i was the earliest to reach there, all thanks to the community programme in grik that has been rescheduled to friday evening.
so once i reached home from the grik trip, i baked some of my signature design cupcakes (of course!) in pink (OLD club colour); packed them individually in silver butterfly clear plastic boxes. i didn't post about this in the blog as soon as i baked them as usual, because i wanna surprise all the great ladies that i met that day. i just hope that they like my kind of butter cupcakes with buttercream frosting. for me, i just love all the gifts that i received from them. we definitely gonna do this again for sure.
all i could say about that evening is that i really can't express the excitement meeting the ladies of OLD club in words. i guess i will just let the pics do the talking-bear my tired eyes, cuz i have been working so hard--
oh yes... i just wanna tell you people also that i met one of my sister's kl flickr friend, han ghazi. hmm... how do i expect that although i baked the kl flickr cupcakes almost a year ago, i still got great feedbacks about it. eventually han is one of my cupcakes fan hehe... so i gave out the balance cupcakes that i brought to her. how glad i am to see another happy face there :)

kuE's cupcakes sold here
yes people... if you are craving for my cupcakes and happened to be around here, just holla! you can buy them as low as one piece only. but its all depends on your luck though as the cupcakes are selling fast alhamdulillah...
fyi its been almost a week now since i first started to sell my cupcakes at our premise. i just placed them at the cashier' counter, in a clear box covered container (refer pic) for an easy view. that way really attracted our customers ;) the best thing is they were kind of stunned after found out from my cashier of whom the cupcake baker lol... why? tarak percaya ka kikikiii...
well actually i baked some engagement cupcakes for two orders by kay's friend last night. i only frosted the cupcakes early this morning. then as soon as my lil' sis helped me to pack them nicely, she (kay's friend) came to pick-up her order. i was like wahhhhh... i didn't even have the chance to take pics yet!!! so after she left, i quickly sms kay to ask her friend to snap some pics for me. i really hope that she did. once done of course i wanna load them in flickr and here :)
so basically the engagement cupcakes were not that much different from the one in the pic especially in terms of the colour. the one above (refer pic) were some extras that i baked to be sold in our premise.

my lacey cupcakes in turqoise/aqua (?)
look at that people... normally here in this blog i posted food pics only. my readers know that its very rare for me to post any other pics. well its different this time. as you could see i looked so happy, after managed to decorate my cupcakes in turqoise/aqua colour.
the story: i did'nt tell anyone at home of what colour i wanna do. once i have done, i asked mom about what colour of frosting that she was looking at. i was like... "yippeee!", when she said turqoise immediately without need the time to think. that means, one mission accomplished here hehe... then my mom asked, "why?". so i told her that i juz wanna make sure that i got the colour i wanted right :)
"turquoise is normally a mix of green and blue, so depending on what exact shade you want to achieve, you will need both pale green and pale blue gel colours. add a dab of each and mix thoroughly, then adjust according to how you want the colour, more green, or more blue..."

pink theme cupcakes for kak zaireen
i am so glad that kak zaireen loves her cupcakes. she told me to bake for her as much as i could, but at least she needs a minimum of three boxes of box of 9. she understand my situation as she saw me at work ;) anyhow i managed to bake five boxes for her! plus one extra for grandmother, who wanted to give someone as a gift.
kak zaireen dropped-by just on time, when i wanted to arrange the cupcakes in the boxes accordingly (refer right pic). after the 'kiss-kiss', she smiled, looking at all those cupcakes.
an uncle and his family from taman melawati in kl were here too that time. he kept asking whether i did some extras for him to buy.
but... suddenly kak zaireen said, "its alright. i korbankan two boxes...", while pushed two boxes towards them.
"how about you?", they asked.
" i could ask kuE to bake more and pass them to her sister on wednesday".

pink & white lacey cupcakes
i was in ipoh for a whole day meeting held at impiana casuarina hotel (formerly known as casuarina park royal ipoh) today. at the same time i brought these cupcakes along that ordered by kak wan. tqsm kak wan for the order. i did "our trademark pattern" ;) there were some oohhhsss... and aahhhsss... from others. and looks like am gonna have more orders in the near future :D

blue & white cupcakes for ayah chu
we stayed-up until +/- 2.30 am this morning. mom requested us to make some cupcakes for her to bring to kl for ayah chu's (whose also her elder brother) kenduri. the design was still the one like what puteri has described before as 'our trademark'. i love it very much though... its so simple and easy to make, yet very nice.

cupcakes for the newly-wed cousin
i was busy for a trip to damai laut and some jobs to be done there. don't forget to check back my main blog for the updates. anyhow we still squeeze-in some time to prepare cupcakes for my newly-wed cousin charlie and his wife before we go. they were here for another wedding reception in kuale yesterday.
we baked those cupcakes on friday night. then we kept them in some air-tight containers and placed them in the fridge. i asked mom to take it out this morning, then cool it down at room temperature. the cupcakes were just nice to have it during lunch today at home, before they went back to kl. hmm... guess what people. not enough of eating our cuppies here, they even 'tapau' some back to kl lol... while yat took back the whole plastic container with the 'C&H' initial (refer above pics: below left).
and here's a pic of part of our newly-added-extended family. pic also showed charlie there who was taking pics of our cuppies, watched by yat. oh yes... i brought some to damai laut yesterday you know. and we were glad that they all love our cuppies so much!!! ;) in fact they also asked us about the pricing already. wahhh!!!... how ler...
we baked quite a number of cupcakes over the weekend. i pipe-out the same pattern that i did last time. i love it so much that it will be my favourite i guess. its like some kind of lace pattern. puteri comment that its also gonna be like our trademark cupcakes already. well, what do you think.

while the green one for my young auntie's wedding on saturday too (S&R was short for shahrizat & rahmat).
its CNY! as you all may already knew by now, we baked butter cupcakes to be given-away. since a friend married today too, so we prepared two boxes of those. the best thing was that the cuppies finished within a blink. even my friend didn't have the chance to eat them. "its alright dear, i will bake more specially for you when i have the free time. then you could enjoy the cuppies all by yourself."
kuE's note: i guess you must have been realized that i love to do the border pattern (what is it called huh?!!) on my cupcakes so much... it makes them cute! like the one in the pic, i just add three tiny sugar hearts.

butter cream icing vs buttercream frosting
today we baked cupcakes again (and again)! lol... well actually we wanted to bake some cuppies for my cousin yasmin whose celebrating her 4th birthday tomorrow. hmm... i guess i will post yasmin's cupcakes pics tomorrow also yea... and as usual, we used some of the extra cupcakes as trial for us to decorate them. eventually the pattern that i did this time was exactly the same one like our shortbread biscuits except that this time it was a bit tiny ;)
kuE's note: for me, i prefer buttercream frosting instead, since i first tried it a few weeks ago. the texture was of course more soft and easy to pipe-out. you could see the difference here and here for butter cream icing. how about you—what's your choice?
