shahriman's 7th birthday cake
both of my sisters joined us in the kitchen today. well it was a last minute plan actually. we were on the way back from ipoh, after bought nephew shahriman's present that we thought of baking a birthday cake for him too ;)
i bought kids' party ideas book from mph few weeks ago. so for sure we got the idea this time from that book. we baked an 8" square cake. then my two sisters cut it in to the number seven shape. for the wording, we just print-out the words on a piece of paper and stick it on the tray. oh yes, we placed the cake on home's ikea white plastic tray since we don't have any cake board. you could view the pics below. what do you think?

we didn't sleep the whole night until sahur this morning. my friend kay's auntie insisted us to bake chocolate chip cookies for her. so that means it was our first time we baked them for sale. check-out the label people. we found it here. we chose that because we really love the country style graphic design so much.
hmm... wonder whether we should do the same next year ;)
kuE's note: while i'm posting this, puteri is baking chocolate chip cookies with my cousin (puteri's auntie) liyana who arrived this morning with my sister. but this time they are baking for home. since puteri can managed herself already, looks like i'll still be around just to accompany them.
Last Saturday night I baked my own cookies all by myself. I started at 9.15 p.m. until 4.15 a.m. While I was baking them, I watched TV and at the same time I surf the net. My mama accompanied me by sleeping on the sofa ;)

chocolate cupcakes (again?)
yes, we baked chocolate cupcakes again. but this time we use ladan miller's recipe as submitted in all recipes site. these were quick and easy to make, wonderful! from a glance, we could find that both were almost the same. well if you asked me, i would prefer this one better than the previous one. this one came out moist with good flavour, and a bit chewy, not too sweet. i also doubled the recipe and made about four dozens! i know this is too much. my kids requested it because they love chocolate so much. i will for sure bake this again and again.
anyhow, isn't it good we shared some with other people especially during this ramadhan month? that's what i did. i gave some to our punjabi neighbours and other relatives too.

chocolate cupcake with butter icing
omigosh... the clock just stroked 1 am and i am still here lol... well we have just baked 'chocolate cupcake with butter icing'. like the previous one, this one's for sahur too.
actually we followed the recipe of chocolate walnut cupcake with chocolate icing by betty saw in her book tempt, cupcakes to excite. walnuts not available at home so we baked it our way. besides it’s only supposed to be for decoration items only.
you know... when things happened at the last minute, we tend to create something else instead right ;)
